Nantou Launches 7 New Tours: Cycling and Hiking in Puli and Yuchi

The tours offer 2-day, 1-day, and half-day itineraries for cycling and hiking. For the first time, a disability-friendly familiarization tour has been introduced to guarantee the right to tourism for people with disabilities.

The Nantou County Scenic Area Management Office held a press conference today for the 'Nantou Joyful Leisurely Tour', planning 4 major routes with a total of 7 themed itineraries to lead visitors through Nantou's mountain and lake scenery. Nantou Deputy County Mayor Wang Rui-de attended and stated that the county government is dedicated to promoting cycling tourism, mountain hiking, water activities, and slow travel experiences. He also noted that the county has received subsidies from the Ministry of Sports to promote distinctive sports tourism itineraries.

The Nantou County Government Tourism Department stated that the core areas are Sun Moon Lake, Puli Township, and Yuchi Township, connecting Sun Moon Lake, Fuxing Hot Spring Area, and surrounding landscape resources. The routes include a 2-day Sun Moon Lake land-water-air tour, a 2-day Puli cycling and hiking tour, a 1-day hike at Liyu Lake and Aotou Mountain, and a half-day cycling guided tour of Puli Township and Yuchi Township. The tours are planned with barrier-free services, introducing the first disability-friendly group.

The county's Tourism Department stated that they have partnered with the popular IP 'Na Zhi Niao' to serve as the best guide with its cute image. To enhance the richness and appeal of the tours, the first 40 registrants for each of the two 2-day tours will receive limited-edition 'Na Zhi Niao' co-branded merchandise, including sports bags, towels, water bottles, and hats.
