Heavy Rain Warning Issued for Kaohsiung, Pingtung, and Mountainous Areas in Northern and Central Taiwan

(Central News Agency, Taipei, June 5) The Central Weather Administration (CWA) has issued a heavy rain warning. Due to the influence of a low-pressure system, short-duration heavy rainfall is likely. Today, there is a chance of localized heavy rain or torrential rain in Kaohsiung City, Pingtung County, and the mountainous areas of New Taipei City, Yunlin County, and Chiayi County.

There is also a probability of localized heavy rain in areas north of Hsinchu, as well as in Nantou, Tainan, Yilan, Taitung, and other mountainous areas.

Precautions should be taken against landslides, falling rocks, and rising river levels in mountainous areas. Low-lying areas should be vigilant against flooding. (Editor: Chung Wei-wei) 1150605
