Heavy Rain Warning for Mountainous Areas in New Taipei, Pingtung, and Hengchun Peninsula Due to Low Pressure

The Central Weather Administration issued a heavy rain warning on June 5. Due to the influence of a low-pressure system, short-duration heavy rainfall is expected. Today, there is a chance of local heavy rain or extremely heavy rain in the mountainous areas of New Taipei City, Pingtung County, and the Hengchun Peninsula. There is also a probability of local heavy rain in areas north of Hsinchu, the southern and southeastern regions, and other mountainous areas. The CWA reminds the public to be cautious of landslides, falling rocks, and rapidly rising river levels in mountainous areas, and to watch for flooding in low-lying areas.
