(Central News Agency reporter Lin Chiao-lien, Kaohsiung, June 4) The Kaohsiung City Government's 'Building the Asia New Bay Area Innovation Ecosystem Project' has shown results, facilitating over 40 transformation cases and generating more than NT$500 million in investments and orders. The Economic Development Department recently led a delegation to participate in the Taipei International Computer Show (COMPUTEX 2026), showcasing the results of AI technology implementation.

The Economic Development Department stated in a press release today that it participated in the 'InnoVEX 2026' startup exhibition at COMPUTEX 2026 on June 2. At the StarFab exhibition area in Nangang Exhibition Hall, it hosted a special event titled 'Digital Asia New Bay Area, Smart AI,' inviting traditional industries and startup teams to share their experiences in AI adoption. The event presented Kaohsiung's progress from technology verification and field validation to industrial application, continuously strengthening the city's role as a base for smart manufacturing and AI applications.

Economic Development Department Director-General Liao Tai-hsiang stated that the city government has been collaborating with NVIDIA in recent years to promote the 'Smart Kaohsiung Lighthouse Project,' integrating AI applications into city governance. In response to the development trends of Agentic AI and Physical AI, Kaohsiung is focusing on 'Industrial Sovereign AI' as its core strategy. Through incentive mechanisms and validation fields, the city is helping traditional industries such as fasteners, petrochemicals, and steel lower the barriers to AI adoption.

The Economic Development Department pointed out that the 'Building the Asia New Bay Area Innovation Ecosystem Project' has attracted proposals from 62 companies and 49 startup teams, expanding the depth of AI applications in manufacturing, semiconductors, and traditional industries.

Among the business collaboration cases, Tung Feng Textile partnered with a startup team to create a 'Smart Factory Brain.' After implementing the AI system, it expanded from a single production line to the entire factory, with future plans to promote predictive maintenance and replicate the system in overseas factories. All Ring Tech utilized an enterprise knowledge-based AI platform to effectively shorten equipment repair time and improve manufacturing efficiency.

Furthermore, Director-General Liao was invited to attend a forum hosted by the Arizona Commerce Authority on June 3, continuing the technology cooperation platform established between Kaohsiung, Arizona, and Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. The Kaohsiung City Government stated that it will continue to deepen cooperation with Arizona in semiconductor supply chains, AI applications, startup incubation, and talent development, expanding Taiwan-US innovation industry linkages and international market opportunities.
