Chicony Electronics May Revenue Falls 11% YoY, Sees AI PC Driving H2 Growth

Chicony explained that among its three major product lines in May, imaging products showed the strongest month-on-month revenue growth, followed by power supplies and keyboards.
Affected by memory price hikes and shortages, Chicony stated that this year, PC customers' shipments are focused on high-end models, with commercial models outperforming consumer models, leading to continued growth in notebook camera module revenue in May. Additionally, AI-enabled smart security products and smart video conferencing systems also performed strongly in May.
Chicony's revenue for the first five months of the year totaled NT$37.371 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 5.2%.

Furthermore, according to the latest forecast from international research firm Gartner, AI PC adoption is accelerating, with global penetration expected to exceed 50%, reaching 54.7% by 2026, officially becoming the market mainstream.
