(Central News Agency reporter Yang Sirui, Tainan, 4th) Mangoes grown in the mountainous areas of Tainan are about to enter the peak harvest season. Coupled with the recent hot weather, the Yujing Fruit and Vegetable Market and the old street are seeing crowds of people buying mangoes and enjoying mango shaved ice. The police have deployed traffic management duties since May 30 and advise tourists to make use of peripheral parking spaces.

Hsu Hsiu-yu, Director of the Supply and Marketing Department of the Yujing District Farmers' Association, told CNA that mangoes are expected to have a bountiful harvest this year and are about to enter the peak season. Yujing is an important distribution center for the mountainous area, and the volume of arriving goods is gradually increasing. The 'Passionate Boy' ice parlor of the Yujing Farmers' Association has already started offering fresh mango shaved ice, attracting many tourists on weekdays and even larger crowds on holidays.

Hsu said that the association's ice parlor is located near the bustling Yujing Old Street and collaborates with other ice shops to boost tourism and the local economy.

According to data provided by the Yujing Police Substation of the Tainan City Police Bureau, the mango market is booming this year. To effectively manage the traffic flow, the police began implementing traffic management work for the mango season on May 30. Police officers have been deployed at key traffic nodes including the intersection of Provincial Highway 84 and Minquan Road, in front of the Farmers' Association on Zhonghua Road, the intersection of Zhongzheng Road and Zhongshan Road, the intersection of Minquan Road and Zhongzheng Road, and the Yujing Roundabout.

The police pointed out that due to limited parking space around Yujing Old Street and the fruit market, the public is advised to use legal parking lots on the periphery and then walk to their destinations, while cooperating with on-site police directions and traffic control measures. The police will strengthen enforcement against illegal parking to prevent traffic congestion and traffic accidents. (Editor: Wu Surou) 1150604
