Hong Kong and Kazakhstan Plan Direct Flights for Q1 2027

Hong Kong and the Central Asian nation of Kazakhstan are scheduled to launch direct flight services in the first quarter of next year. Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee is currently leading a 70-member economic and trade delegation visiting Kazakhstan and announced the news to accompanying Hong Kong reporters today. According to media reports, Hong Kong airlines will launch direct flights to Almaty, Kazakhstan, in the first quarter of next year, with an expected frequency of more than one flight per week. Lee also stated that this visit to Kazakhstan will result in the signing of 43 memoranda and cooperation agreements, covering areas such as trade, investment, financial services, technology, education, aviation, and green finance. Lee began a five-day visit to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on May 31, with a delegation including 40 Hong Kong business and professional representatives and 30 representatives from mainland Chinese enterprises.
