Phison Founder Pua Khein-Seng Encourages Students to Seize the Golden Era of AI Implementation

Taichung, June 2 (CNA) - Pua Khein-Seng, founder and CEO of Phison Electronics, delivered a lecture at National Chung Hsing University, sharing his insights on AI industry trends, entrepreneurial choices, and life philosophy. He stated that AI tools effectively save R&D manpower and time, and that corporate strategy should not be layoffs, but rather empowering talent to move from repetitive tasks to high-value testing, application, and system integration. According to a press release from National Chung Hsing University, Pua was invited on the 1st to give a special lecture titled 'Striving for Yourself: Entrepreneurial Journey x AI Industry Insights x Future Innovation Thinking.' He shared his journey from studying in Taiwan to founding Phison and leading the company to the global stage. Pua bluntly stated that AI is not meant to replace all jobs, but to assist humans in handling 'repetitive knowledge and document work.' Using the example of robotic arms replacing repetitive physical labor in factories, he pointed out that the value of AI lies in making time-consuming, repetitive, and fatiguing tasks more efficient. Pua noted that the real bottleneck for the AI industry lies not just in computing power, but in memory and storage. Regarding corporate AI adoption, Pua shared Phison's internal experience, noting that the company established an AI project team last year, requiring departments to propose actual needs and using AI agents to assist in R&D and administrative processes. He stated that while resistance and friction are inevitable in the early stages of adoption, one must continue to push forward as long as the direction is correct. He advised students not to start businesses blindly, but to first identify clear needs and market gaps before deciding on a direction. Given current trends, he believes that AI implementation, software integration, and Hybrid AI-related services are the most promising areas for entrepreneurship in the next three years.
