Industrial Development Administration Sets Up Theme Pavilion at InnoVEX, Supporting 90 Startups with Nearly NT$10 Billion in 3 Years

The 2026 InnoVEX, a premier Asian startup exhibition, opened today. The Industrial Development Administration (IDA) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs established its first theme pavilion at InnoVEX, focusing on three major fields: semiconductor chips, unmanned systems, and AI applications, bringing together 16 startup teams. The IDA stated that over the past three years, through government subsidies, investment attraction plans, and fundraising matching, it has invested in and mentored 90 startups, driving a total investment of nearly NT$10 billion.

InnoVEX, part of the 2026 COMPUTEX, is held from the 2nd to the 5th at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 2. The IDA participated in a theme pavilion format for the first time, hosting an opening ceremony and CVC exchange activities.

IDA Director-General Chiu Chiu-hui stated that Taiwan's strengths span traditional manufacturing, high-tech industries, and emerging fields. However, in the rapidly changing AI era, relying solely on internal R&D is insufficient, making the integration of external innovation crucial for competitiveness.

Chiu pointed out that startups are the source of emerging technologies and industrial innovation, so supporting them is a strategic move for Taiwan's future. The Ministry of Economic Affairs has integrated resources to build a complete support system from incubation to marketization.

The IDA is actively promoting cooperation between large enterprises and startups, using the "Big Tree Nurturing New Shoots" model to accelerate market entry. Through policy tools like the "Strategic Service/Manufacturing Industry Investment Enhancement Plan," the IDA assists startups in securing early-stage funding. Additionally, the "CVC Acceleration Plan" encourages large corporations to invest in startups, while the "CITD" program promotes technology adoption in traditional industries.

The pavilion showcased several startups with international validation. For instance, Neuchips (鑫蘊林科) focuses on "Sovereign AI," backed by NVIDIA and collaborating with global telecom giants. RunCore (律芯科技) launched an AI chip for smart cockpits, securing partnerships in the US and Europe. Zhenhao Digital Technology (震豪數位科技) provides cloud management for pet hospitals, expanding into Japan and Southeast Asia.

To further strengthen cooperation, the IDA has established a "CVC Association" to foster a positive industrial cycle.
