Lin Yi-min appointed Representative to Nigeria, Chiu Chen-yu to Papua New Guinea

(Central News Agency, Yang Yao-ru, Taipei, June 2) Diplomatic personnel changes have been announced. Lin Yi-min, Deputy Representative to Vietnam, has been promoted to Representative to Nigeria, and Chiu Chen-yu, Director of the Surabaya Office, has been promoted to Representative to Papua New Guinea.

Approved by the Executive Yuan, Lin Yi-min will serve as Representative to Nigeria, while the current Representative, Liu Yi-ping, will return to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Wang Bei-ping, Representative to Papua New Guinea, will also return to the Ministry, with Chiu Chen-yu succeeding him. Lin Wen-chun, Director of the Consular Affairs Bureau, will be promoted to Director of the Surabaya Office.

Lin Yi-min is a career diplomat with a master's degree in public administration from the University of Michigan. Vietnam is a key focus of the New Southbound Policy, and during his tenure as Deputy Representative, Lin worked to deepen people-to-people exchanges and industrial cooperation. Previously, as administrative head of the Chicago office, he promoted the office's building purchase project.

Chiu Chen-yu is also a career diplomat, holding a bachelor's degree in English from Chinese Culture University and a master's in management from the University of Iowa. Before his post in Surabaya, he served at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the U.S. and the Vancouver office. Within the Ministry, he has worked in the Department of Public Diplomacy, the North American Affairs Department, and the Department of International Economic and Trade Affairs.
