Tigerair Taiwan to Launch Two New Routes from Kaohsiung to Japan in September

Tigerair Taiwan announced today that it will launch two new routes from Kaohsiung to Ishigaki and Komatsu starting in September, bringing the total number of routes from Kaohsiung to Japan to 11. Tigerair Taiwan previously announced it would launch two new routes to Japan this year. In a press release today, the airline stated that it is targeting the Southern Taiwan travel market. By launching these two new routes, the number of routes from Kaohsiung to Japan will increase to 11. Including routes to Seoul Gimpo, Jeju, and Da Nang, Tigerair Taiwan will operate 14 routes from Kaohsiung, offering the most diverse options for travelers in the south. The Kaohsiung-Ishigaki route is scheduled to launch on September 2, 2026, with two flights per week initially. The Kaohsiung-Komatsu route is scheduled for September 3, 2026, also starting with two flights per week. To celebrate, Tigerair Taiwan will launch a limited-time promotional sale on June 3. Currently, Tigerair Taiwan's Japan destinations from Kaohsiung include Sapporo (New Chitose), Sendai, Tokyo Narita, Nagoya, Osaka Kansai, Okayama, Fukuoka, Kumamoto, and Okinawa. With the addition of Ishigaki and Komatsu, there will be 11 routes, providing more flexible options for the Southern Taiwan tourism market.
