President Lai: Energy Security is National Security; Government to Support CPC in Enhancing Resilience

CNA, Taipei, June 1. CPC Corporation, Taiwan, held its 80th anniversary celebration today. President Lai Ching-te stated that CPC should shoulder the mission that 'energy security is national security.' The government will support CPC in enhancing energy resilience and actively introducing AI technology. While CPC bears the responsibility of stabilizing prices, the government will work with the company to achieve its goals without compromising its development or employee interests. President Lai noted that for 80 years, CPC has accompanied Taiwan through post-war reconstruction and industrial development, standing as a cornerstone of national economic development and energy security. He thanked every employee for their dedication. In recent years, as global energy supply chains face challenges, Taiwan has maintained stable oil prices thanks to CPC's efforts. The government will support two key goals: enhancing energy resilience by strengthening infrastructure and diversifying import sources, and actively adopting AI technology to improve efficiency in process optimization and safety management.
