DPP Announces Candidates for Chiayi County Township Mayors; Lucao Mayor Declines Re-election

The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Chiayi County Chapter announced today the candidates for seven township mayor positions, including Shuishang, Liujiao, Budai, Xingang, Xikou, Dalin, and Zhongpu. Additionally, it was announced that Lucao Township Mayor Yen Pei-yu will not seek re-election, and the party is currently searching for a suitable candidate. DPP Chiayi County Chapter Chairperson Hsu Ming-hsun stated that the list includes six incumbent mayors seeking re-election, while County Councilor Liu Ya-wen will run for Xikou Township Mayor. For Zhuchi Township, Chen Hong-ji, chairman of the township representative council, was selected through polling. Yen Pei-yu told the Central News Agency that her decision not to seek re-election is based on personal career planning.
