Overnight House Fire in Sanxia, New Taipei City Leaves One Dead; Cause Under Investigation

According to CNA reporter Wang Hong-guo, a fire occurred at a single-story residence on Dapu Road in Sanxia District, New Taipei City, late at 11:00 PM yesterday. Firefighters arrived at the scene and rescued one person, but after the fire was extinguished, a charred body was found. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Firefighters received the report at 11:20 PM and quickly dispatched personnel and vehicles to the scene, while police also arrived to assist with disaster relief and traffic control. Firefighters first rescued a 66-year-old male resident, who indicated that others might still be trapped inside. The fire was extinguished at 11:56 PM, with a burned area of approximately 15 square meters. The Sanxia Precinct stated that three people lived in the house. After extinguishing the fire, a charred body was found inside, preliminarily identified as a 67-year-old male surnamed Lu. Another resident, a 69-year-old woman surnamed Su, was out at the time of the fire and escaped unharmed. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
