Four-Year Technical College Selection: 36,000 Pass First Stage, Lowest Rate in 10 Years

(CNA, Taipei, June 1) The first-stage selection results for the 115th academic year Four-Year Technical College entrance channel were announced today. There were 34,770 spots available, with 42,076 applicants completing the first stage, and 36,740 passing, resulting in a pass rate of 87.3%, the lowest in the past 10 years. The Joint Board of Technical and Vocational College Admissions released a press release today stating that the results were available starting at 10:00 AM on June 1. Candidates can check the results on the committee's website. Those who passed must still participate in the second stage of designated project assessments. For the 115th academic year, 34,770 spots were offered (including the Youth Savings Account group). 42,076 people completed the first-stage registration, with each candidate able to apply for up to six choices. 36,740 people passed the first stage, marking an 87.3% pass rate, the lowest in a decade. The Joint Board stated that the second-stage portfolio submission opens at 10:00 AM on June 5 and runs until 9:00 PM on the deadline set by each school. The system is open daily from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Candidates must complete the second-stage registration and payment within the deadline. When uploading portfolios, candidates must choose between "checking the central database" or "uploading a PDF file." Those without central database records must use the PDF upload method. The Joint Board noted that once the upload mode is confirmed, it cannot be changed. Before the final confirmation, files can be re-uploaded. Candidates must verify that their status shows "Confirmed" in the system to ensure a successful upload.
