Taiwan's Centers for Disease Control (CDC) announced on the 29th that, due to the escalating Ebola outbreak, it will suspend the entry of residents from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Uganda for 90 days, starting at midnight on June 2. This is the first entry restriction since the lifting of COVID-19 border controls. Four categories of exceptions apply, including degree-seeking students, diplomats, spouses and minor children of Taiwanese citizens, and emergency humanitarian cases. According to the WHO, the outbreak is expanding in both countries, and Taiwan is strengthening border monitoring.
