Chan Tzu-hsien Injured in Defensive Collision; Jokes About Plastic Surgery Like Takeshi Kaneshiro

CTBC Brothers outfielder Chan Tzu-hsien recently suffered a self-inflicted injury and a facial injury from a collision with a teammate while playing in the second team. He initially thought he had broken his nose and joked that if he needed plastic surgery, he would want to look like Takeshi Kaneshiro. Regarding the team's recent situation, he said he would continue to make adjustments to improve.

Chan Tzu-hsien hit his left ankle with a self-inflicted ball at the end of April and was demoted to the second team on May 1st, returning to the first team today. In an interview, he explained that he initially thought he would recover quickly, but the swelling was severe. Although there was no bone fracture, there was a tear near the ankle, which might be related to an old injury he hadn't noticed before.

Chan said he was a bit angry at first. His hitting data in the first team was better than last year, but he got injured by a self-inflicted ball and then collided while playing defense in the second team. However, he realized that being angry was useless and he had to work his way back slowly. When asked if he had gone to pray, he laughed and said no one probably prays more diligently than he does.

Recalling the moment he was injured in the second team, he said he was bleeding profusely and initially thought he had hit his nose. He kept touching his nose, wondering if he needed plastic surgery, but found his nose was fine. It was his glasses that broke and poked near his eye. 'Fortunately, it didn't poke my eye. I'm safe,' he said, joking that if he really needed plastic surgery, he would want to look like Takeshi Kaneshiro's nose.

Chan said that his current leg condition might not be as agile when running, but he is following the trainer's schedule and is getting better.

Regarding the team's poor recent performance, Chan said that it is necessary to stay calm and not have too many emotional ups and downs. Although they lost, he believes everyone did their best. No one can be a winning team forever; it depends on how they make adjustments from every game and become better.
