Tainan Yujing Hits 39.8 Degrees, Taipei Exceeds 38 Degrees; High Temperature Alerts Issued for 19 Counties and Cities

The Central Weather Administration has updated its high-temperature alerts, warning of high temperatures across Taiwan, excluding the Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu regions. As of 2:00 PM today, Yujing District in Tainan City recorded the highest temperature at 39.8 degrees Celsius, which is also the highest temperature recorded in Yujing over the past week. The highest temperature in Taipei City was 38.5 degrees in Wenshan District. According to information from the Central Weather Administration of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, as of 2:00 PM today, the temperature in Yujing District, Tainan City, reached 39.8 degrees, followed by 39 degrees in Shuangxi District, New Taipei City. In addition, local temperatures exceeding 38 degrees were recorded in Taipei, Taoyuan, Pingtung, Hualien, and other areas. Observing the top 100 high-temperature rankings, the top 13 are all above 38 degrees, including Daan Forest Park in Taipei City, which reached 38 degrees. It is worth mentioning that Yujing District in Tainan City has had temperatures above 38 degrees for seven consecutive days since the 21st, with temperatures exceeding 39 degrees since the 22nd and 24th. The previous high temperature in Yujing over the past week was 39.7 degrees on the 22nd, which was refreshed again this afternoon. The Weather Administration continued to issue high-temperature information in the afternoon, noting that the weather is hot across the country. Only the Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu regions are not under high-temperature alerts. It also reminded that foehn winds have occurred in Taitung County, and Tainan City and Pingtung County are under red alerts, with the possibility of continuous extreme high temperatures of 38 degrees. In addition, Keelung City, Taipei City, New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Kaohsiung City, and Hualien County are under orange alerts, requiring attention to extreme high temperatures of 38 degrees. Other counties and cities should be aware of local high temperatures above 36 degrees.
