〈Seminar Purpose〉
This seminar will systematically outline the development of next-generation lithium-ion batteries aiming for both high safety and high performance, from the perspectives of material technology, manufacturing technology, battery system technology, and market trends. First, we will organize the market trends of lithium-ion batteries and the performance requirements for each application. Next, we will explain the operating principles of lithium-ion batteries and current challenges, and focus on thermal runaway mechanisms to present ideas on their causes and suppression methods.
Regarding manufacturing processes, we will provide an overview of the technical key points of typical processes such as mixing, coating, drying, and pressure adjustment. For cathodes and anodes, we will compare the characteristics and challenges of mainstream active materials, and discuss the roles of supporting materials such as binders, conductive aids, and current collectors. For separators and electrolytes, we will briefly explain the presence or absence of ceramic coating, development trends of non-woven fabric separators, electrolyte additives, and interactions with each component. Finally, based on the disassembly analysis of actual batteries recovered from disassembled EVs, we will explain battery structures and used components, and comprehensively consider the future direction of battery technology.
※This seminar will be a live streaming seminar using the video conferencing tool "Zoom" on the day. Please refer to the tool for recommended environment. A separate email with the viewing URL will be sent later.
★Recording and photography during the seminar are strictly prohibited.
