Our company supports April Dream, which aims to be a day for sharing dreams on April 1st.
This press release is the dream of "Claudio Inc.".
Claudio Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo) declares its commitment to promoting "dual careers" for athletes. Our dream at Claudio is to create an environment where athletes can utilize the experience and strength gained from their dedication to sports in the business world.
■ Background of the Dream
"Give up competition, or give up a career?"
Many athletes are forced to make this choice. Even for professional athletes, only a small fraction can support themselves solely through competition. Even if they wish to work, there are not enough companies that offer flexible working arrangements to accommodate their training and matches, leaving many athletes with no choice but to give up one or the other.
Believing that this issue stems from a lack of systems on the receiving end rather than with the athletes themselves, Claudio began by building its own system. Following its job sponsorship of the Kanto Soccer League team "Briobecca Urayasu" (at the time) in 2022, the company introduced a "Dual Career Employee System."
■ Current Initiatives
Currently, Claudio has eight members who have balanced sports such as soccer and boxing with their work.
One of them is a former player for the Japan Futsal National Team.
During her time with Tachikawa Athletic FC Ladies, working hours that allowed her to attend evening practices were a prerequisite. The reasons she chose Claudio were the short-time work system that allowed her to balance her sport and the environment where she could grow even without prior experience.
Having retired from active play, she is now in charge of in-house development and BPO accounting operations.

"Even in situations where an immediate answer isn't clear, I focus without losing concentration, organizing things one by one. When things don't go well, I rethink other approaches." The tenacity honed through competition is alive in her daily work. She says that the process of researching and understanding suits her, and she is expanding her work by accumulating small successes. She plans to continue being involved in both futsal and business, leveraging the experience gained from her sport.
Another is a former player who was active with Briobecca Urayasu.
He also joined as a dual career employee with reduced working hours, and after retiring from active play, he is now a full-time employee responsible for everything from organizing customer requirements to design, development, and improvement proposals. The impetus was his feeling that "if there was a system, it could be done more efficiently" while involved in merchandise sales and expense management as a behind-the-scenes team member.

"It only has meaning if you tackle it seriously." This mindset, cultivated through soccer, is reflected in his work attitude of addressing customer issues as his own.
Both are serious about their "next challenge" even after their athletic careers have ended. Not many athletes in Japan are entering the business world in this way yet.
■ Future Initiatives
Our dream is not to keep this system confined to our own company.
We want to expand from Claudio to society at large, creating places where active athletes and retired players can step into the IT and business worlds while retaining their athletic experience. We will share the know-how gained from dual career recruitment externally and collaborate with like-minded companies to increase career options for athletes.
We will not let the power cultivated through sports end with just the competition. That is Claudio's April Dream.
We aim for the day when people say, "Claudio is synonymous with dual careers."
On April 1st, we declare this dream.
*"April Dream" is a project by PR TIMES where companies announce dreams they hope to achieve on April 1st. We aim to realize this dream.
