Monthly Investment Amount in Crypto Assets: About Half Invest "10,000 to 50,000 Yen" -- Investment Behavior Diverges by Years of Experience | Clabo Inc.
Clabo Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Ikuma Ueno) conducted a "Survey on Monthly Investment Amounts and Changes in Investment Behavior for Crypto Assets" targeting 718 individuals with experience in crypto asset investment in Japan.
The survey revealed that 45.7% of experienced crypto asset investors set their monthly investment amount between "10,000 to 50,000 yen," indicating that a steady, small-amount, installment-based investment style that does not strain daily living expenses is currently the mainstream.
On the other hand, among beginners with less than one year of investment experience, 51.0% responded "zero investment (many months with no investment)." In contrast, those with 3 to 5 years of experience saw an expansion in the mid-range investment group, and those with over 5 years saw the emergence of a large-scale investor group (17.2%), showing a gradual change in investment behavior with increasing years of experience.
This report provides a detailed explanation of investor tendencies who choose long-term holding (50.6%) and the current situation where 46.9% of investors are holding back on expanding investments due to caution about risks.

It was found that a steady investment style aimed at asset building is the majority among experienced investors.
Over Half Maintain "No Change" in Investment Pace -- Steadiness Highlighted
When asked if there had been any changes in investment amounts over the past year, 380 individuals (52.9%) responded "no change," accounting for over half of the respondents.
With "increased" at 155 individuals (21.6%) and "decreased" at 142 individuals (19.8%), the results show that investment behavior of maintaining a consistent pace without overreacting to market fluctuations is widely observed.
Over 80% Started with Less Than 100,000 Yen -- The Trend of Starting Small is Established
Regarding the amount invested when first investing in crypto assets, "less than 10,000 yen" was the most common response with 298 individuals (41.5%). "100,000 to less than 500,000 yen" accounted for 106 individuals (14.8%), and "500,000 yen or more" was only 33 individuals (4.6%). Regarding current holdings, 75% are under 1,000,000 yen, indicating that the pattern of starting with a small amount and continuously accumulating is the majority.
Investment Behavior Significantly Changes with Years of Experience -- Gradual Growth from Beginner to Advanced Investor
How does the investment amount change with years of experience?
Analyzing monthly investment amounts by years of investment experience reveals a noticeable change corresponding to proficiency levels. Among beginners with less than one year of experience, about half reported zero investment, indicating that their investment rhythm is not yet established.
By the stage of 1 to 3 years of experience, the habit of investing "10,000 to 50,000 yen" per month begins to solidify, and the "60,000 to 100,000 yen" group tends to expand after 3 to 5 years. Furthermore, among advanced investors with over 5 years of experience, investment strategies diversify, and the proportion of large-scale investors (over 210,000 yen) expands, indicating a polarization.
Reason for Limiting Investment Amount is "Fear of Risk" the Most Common -- Information Deficit Also a Challenge
When asked about the main reasons for setting the investment amount within a certain range (multiple responses allowed), the most frequent answer was "I'm investing a small amount because I'm afraid of risk," with 337 individuals (46.9%).
This was followed by "I'm investing in installments for future asset formation" with 226 individuals (31.5%), and "I prioritize living expenses (within surplus funds)" with 206 individuals (28.7%).
Additionally, "I'm holding back because I'm not confident in gathering information or making decisions" was cited by 123 individuals (17.1%), and "I find it difficult to increase investments due to concerns about taxes and tax filing" by 90 individuals (12.5%), revealing that uncertainty regarding information and systems also significantly constrains investment behavior.
Anxiety about Information is on Par with Price Fluctuations -- Lack of Information as a Basis for Decision-Making
Next, we asked about the anxieties felt regarding investment. The most common responses were "I cannot judge the accuracy of information" with 308 individuals (42.9%), "prices are volatile" with 275 individuals (38.3%), "I don't know the timing for buying or selling" with 269 individuals (37.5%), and "I'm anxious about taxes and tax filing" with 257 individuals (35.8%). Alongside anxiety about price risk, concerns about evaluating information reliability were found to have a significant impact on investor decision-making.
