Beautifying the City for GREEN×EXPO 2027! A First for Yokohama City! Wrapping TEPCO Ground Equipment to Color the Streets with Tunk Tunk

GREEN×EXPO 2027 (hereinafter referred to as "EXPO") reached the one-year mark before its opening on Thursday, March 19, 2026. In order to further build momentum for the EXPO, we have wrapped the ground equipment of TEPCO Power Grid, Inc. located on City Road Takashimadai No. 200 (commonly known as Palnard Street) at the west exit of Yokohama Station with EXPO designs for a limited time until the closing of the event. This is the first time such wrapping has been applied to ground equipment in Yokohama City. The ground equipment wrapped this time had been subjected to illegal graffiti, affecting the city's scenery. By applying the wrapping, we aim to raise momentum for the EXPO, prevent the recurrence of graffiti, and improve the city's scenery. 1 Background: Yokohama Station, the gateway to Yokohama, will welcome many people for the EXPO. Together with local residents, companies, and organizations, we are working to beautify and improve the environment around Yokohama Station so that citizens and visitors can spend their time comfortably. This wrapping was also implemented as one of the initiatives to beautify and improve the environment around Yokohama Station. 2 Wrapping Details: The wrapping was applied to one side of the ground equipment facing the sidewalk. The design features the official EXPO mascot character, 'Tunk Tunk,' brightly coloring the streets. 3 Location of Wrapped Ground Equipment: Wrapping was applied to 5 units of ground equipment located on City Road Takashimadai No. 200 (commonly known as Palnard Street) at the west exit of Yokohama Station.
