Toyonaka City and Ueda Oil Co., Ltd. will sign a "Partnership Agreement on Promoting the Resource Conversion of Waste Cooking Oil" to realize a sustainable, circular, and decarbonized society. Under this agreement, used cooking oil from households (waste cooking oil) will be collected at collection points set up in cooperating stores within the city and handed over to businesses that develop and manufacture fuel. The collected waste cooking oil will be recycled into renewable energy fuels such as SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) and BDF (Biodiesel Fuel). Additionally, the containers used for collecting the waste cooking oil will also be recycled, promoting a circular community development that wastes no resources, together with the citizens. *Until the full-scale production of SAF begins at the ENEOS Wakayama Refinery in FY2028 or later, the collected waste cooking oil will be recycled into fuels such as biodiesel.
