Mud Play at Ama Site Park in Takatsuki City

On Saturday, May 30, Reiwa 8, at Ama Site Park in Takatsuki City, the citizen group "Amanjin Club," which is active in the park, will hold a "Mud Play" event where you can play freely in the muddy rice fields before planting. You can enjoy activities like tug-of-war and sumo wrestling. Ama Site Park is a park developed from the site of a large moated settlement from the early Yayoi period (about 2500 years ago), when rice cultivation began in the Kinki region. The park has a production area that reproduces rice cultivation from that time, and ancient rice is grown in the paddies with citizens every year. This event will be held using the park's unique "ancient rice paddies." You can play freely while getting covered in mud through activities like tug-of-war, sumo, dodgeball, sledding, and making mud mountains. It has been well-received as an experience where you can get much muddier than usual. Also, in ancient rice farming, the soil was prepared by kneading it directly with feet, so mud play also serves the purpose of preparing the soil before planting.
