Spring is in Full Bloom: Cherry Blossoms at Their Best in Takatsuki City

Amidst the pleasant spring weather, cherry blossoms are reaching their peak at various locations throughout Takatsuki City. We would like to introduce some recommended cherry blossom spots in the city, so please come and visit Takatsuki.

1. Settsu-kyo Park

Settsu-kyo Park is known as the premier cherry blossom viewing spot in the Hokusetsu region, where approximately 3,000 cherry trees, including Somei Yoshino, bloom in splendor. Every year, many visitors from both inside and outside the city come to enjoy the blossoms. The "Settsu-kyo Sakura Festival" is currently being held at the park's Sakura Plaza until Sunday, April 12, 2026.

Access: ・From JR Takatsuki Station North, take the city bus bound for "Shimo-no-kuchi," get off at "Shimo-no-kuchi," and walk 2 minutes to the northeast. ・From JR Takatsuki Station North, take the city bus bound for "Kansai University," get off at "Nishinokawabashi," and walk 10 minutes to the north.

2. Shinkawa Cherry Blossom Embankment

Address: Minamishokucho, Takatsuki City

Access: ・From JR Takatsuki Station South or Hankyu Takatsuki-shi Station, take the city bus bound for "Hashiramoto Danchi" and get off at "Niju" (immediately upon arrival). ・From JR Takatsuki Station South or Hankyu Takatsuki-shi Station, take the city bus bound for "Hankyu Tonda Station" or "Shako-mae" and get off at "Josaibashi" (immediately upon arrival).

3. Akutagawa Green Space

Located downstream from the scenic "Settsu-kyo" in the middle reaches of the Akutagawa River, this is a natural green space preserved in the suburbs, sandwiched between residential areas and the river. Within the green space, there is "Actre," a health-promotion plaza boasting one of the largest numbers of fitness equipment in the Kansai region, and "Aquapia Akutagawa," a museum where you can learn about the nature of Takatsuki, centered around the Akutagawa River.

Access: ・From JR Takatsuki Station North, take the city bus bound for "Heian Jogakuin University East" or "Kansai University" and get off at "Minamihandai Elementary School" (immediately upon arrival). ・From JR Tonda Station, take the city bus bound for "Nasahara" and get off at "Kita-Minamihandai," then walk about 10 minutes to the east.
