South Korean AI Solution Developer 'Smartcube' Makes Its First Entry into Japan in Sapporo!

Sapporo City is actively promoting the attraction of overseas companies, viewing the entry of Rapidus Corporation—which aims to mass-produce next-generation semiconductors in Hokkaido—and the designation of Hokkaido and Sapporo as a special zone for finance and asset management as significant opportunities. Recently, the digital and AI solution developer "Smartcube" from Naju, South Korea, established its Japanese subsidiary, "Onyx Lab Co., Ltd.," in Sapporo with the support of the Sapporo Overseas Business Support Center (STEP). The date of incorporation was January 30, 2026.

Due to the connection that our Korean owner once studied abroad in Hokkaido, we chose Sapporo—the economic center of Hokkaido, which also boasts a wonderful, nature-rich environment—as our first overseas expansion base.
