Sakura City, Chiba Prefecture, and Sompo Japan Insurance Inc. Chiba Nishi Branch Conclude Comprehensive Partnership Agreement for Regional Revitalization and Welfare Improvement

Sakura City, Chiba Prefecture (Mayor: Sanjugo Nishida) and Sompo Japan Insurance Inc. Chiba Nishi Branch (Branch Manager: Shinya Yonemoto) concluded a comprehensive partnership agreement on March 26, Reiwa 8 (2026), with the aim of promoting regional revitalization and improving regional welfare through close mutual cooperation and collaborative activities.

◆ Comment from Sakura City Mayor Sanjugo Nishida
Today, Sakura City and Sompo Japan Insurance Inc. Chiba Nishi Branch have concluded a comprehensive partnership agreement.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all those involved who have contributed to the conclusion of this agreement.
The branch has provided extensive support to date, such as offering "yellow badges" in collaboration with the Board of Education as a traffic safety initiative for new first-grade elementary school students, and holding "Business Continuity Plan Creation Support Seminars" in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry to strengthen disaster preparedness for small and medium-sized enterprises.
These collaborative initiatives between the public and private sectors are truly significant social contribution activities that contribute to solving regional issues, and I express my heartfelt respect.
This agreement marks the commemorative 10th comprehensive partnership agreement since I assumed the position of mayor in April Heisei 31 (2019).
Furthermore, this is the first time a signing ceremony has been held outside the city hall, which is a very fresh attempt symbolizing a new expansion of public-private cooperation.
As this agreement covers seven areas: disaster prevention, traffic safety, welfare, environment, industrial promotion, education, and other necessary matters to achieve the purpose of this agreement, we intend to proceed with cooperation by utilizing each other's resources and knowledge.
In particular, based on information sharing during normal times, we aim to steadily accumulate on-site results such as prompt cooperation during disasters, safety measures to protect children and the elderly, strengthening the resilience of local businesses, and human resource development, thereby contributing to the improvement of citizen services, the revitalization of the entire city, and the realization of a sustainable city of "Sakura." We look forward to your continued support.

◆ Outline of the Agreement
1. Purpose of the Agreement
The purpose is to promote regional revitalization and improve regional welfare by fostering close mutual cooperation and collaborative activities between Sakura City and Sompo Japan Insurance Inc. Chiba Nishi Branch.

2. Content of Cooperation
To achieve the purpose, the following matters will be addressed in cooperation:
(1) Matters related to disaster prevention
(2) Matters related to traffic safety
(3) Matters related to welfare
(4) Matters related to the environment
(5) Matters related to industrial promotion
(6) Matters related to education
(7) Other matters necessary to achieve the purpose of this agreement, in addition to those listed in the preceding items.

3. Agreement Period
From March 26, Reiwa 8 (2026) to March 31, Reiwa 9 (2027).
However, if no objection is made one month before the expiration date, the agreement will be renewed for one year.
