Recruiting Participants for the 14th Castle Town Iwatsuki Falconry Procession

We are recruiting participants for the "14th Castle Town Iwatsuki Falconry Procession" to be held on November 3, Reiwa 8 (Tuesday, holiday).

The "Castle Town Iwatsuki Falconry Procession" is an autumn event unique to Castle Town Iwatsuki, based on the historical fact that Tokugawa Ieyasu visited Iwatsuki many times while falconing. Approximately 100 people in total will dress up as the Shogun, princesses, feudal lords, and others, and parade along the Nikko Onarimichi.

November 3, Reiwa 8 (Tuesday, holiday), from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM (canceled in case of rain)

Recruitment Details:

Approximately 55 people * If there are too many applicants, a lottery will be held. You can participate in the procession dressed as the Shogun, Iwatsuki feudal lord, princess, lady-in-waiting, attendant, retainer, page, spear carrier, inspector, lady's maid, etc. Individual or group participation is possible.

Eligibility:

Open to individuals in 4th grade of elementary school and above (no residency or other requirements).

Participation Fee:

4th grade elementary school to junior high school students: 4,000 yen General public: 6,000 yen * Includes costume rental and commemorative gift costs.

Recruitment Conditions:

- Must be able to attend the preliminary briefing session, role assignment, and rehearsal. - If you cannot attend the preliminary briefing session, you can entrust the role assignment to the secretariat. * Rehearsals etc. are scheduled (subject to change). (1) September 13 (Sunday) Preliminary briefing session, role assignment, and rehearsal (proxy attendance allowed) (2) September 27 (Sunday) Rehearsal (3) October 18 (Sunday) Rehearsal (4) October 25 (Sunday) Rehearsal * (1) is mandatory, (2) to (4) are for those who can participate. - On the day of the procession [November 3 (Tuesday, holiday)], costume fitting and rehearsal will be held in the morning. - Must be able to walk about 1 kilometer while performing in costume appropriate for the role. - Must be able to participate in any role (roles with many applicants will be decided by lottery at the preliminary briefing session). - Must agree to the use of videos and photos taken by the organizer for administrative purposes. - Must agree to the possibility of being the subject of a photo contest held by the organizer. - Must agree to the possibility of videos and photos of the procession being featured in media such as TV and newspapers. - After being provisionally selected, participants must pay the participation fee by the specified date (failure to pay will be considered a cancellation).
