We will publish "sai (SAI) 2027," a regional information magazine created by Saitama citizens, which will cover and write articles about attractive local resources. This initiative aims to foster a deeper sense of attachment to the region among citizens, while also shaping the image of the city as envisioned in its future urban plan: "A City of High-Quality Living" and "A Central City in Eastern Japan."

To this end, we are seeking 8 "Citizen Writers" who will cover and write articles about the city's attractions. Why not share the "people, things, and events" you love about Saitama City in your own words?

1. Overview of "sai2027"

Size: A5 Number of pages: 24 pages Print run: 8,000 copies Publication date: March 2027 (5th issue), published annually Distribution: Public facilities (e.g., information disclosure corners at each ward office, branch offices/citizen service centers, libraries, community centers, comprehensive lifelong learning centers, community halls, etc.)

2. Activities

- Covering, writing articles, and taking photographs to convey the charm of Saitama City (1) Articles for the Saitama City Regional Information Magazine "sai2027" Create 1 article (approx. 300 to 600 characters), plus a profile and afterword article. (2) Articles for the official sai Instagram account Post 3 times (approx. 400 characters per post). - Participation in a writer's workshop and exchange meeting (6 sessions total), scheduled to be held on weekday evenings or Saturday daytime between late August and early October 2026. *Venues are planned to be within the city. Online participation is also possible.

5. Eligibility Requirements

- Must be 18 years of age or older and reside or work/study in Saitama City. - Must be motivated to disseminate information about Saitama City's attractions both within and outside the city, and be able to conduct interviews within the city. - Must be able to communicate via email using a personal computer or smartphone, and participate in online meetings such as Zoom. - Must be able to take photos for interviews using your own smartphone or camera.

6. Expenses Provided

6,000 yen (provided as reimbursement for interview expenses such as transportation costs)

7. Participation Benefits

(1) Free attendance at the writer's workshop We will hold a Citizen Writer's Workshop (6 sessions total) to teach basic writing and photography techniques. The former editor-in-chief of the information magazine and professional photographers will provide support for creating attractive articles. You can learn while having fun and interacting with fellow participants. (2) Creation of an avatar illustration based on you The illustration will be published in the main issue of sai2027 and on the official sai Instagram account along with your pen name. (3) Business cards to use during the activity period Original business cards will be created and provided for use during interviews throughout the activity period.

8. Selection Process

First selection followed by a second selection via online interview. (Scheduled for early August 2026. The date and time will be notified by email later.)
