[Saga City] New AI Project to Create the Future of Saga Launched

Saga City has launched a new AI project in collaboration with Microsoft Japan, Saga University, and Saga Prefecture to commemorate the 10th anniversary of MAIC SAGA (Microsoft AI&Innovation Center SAGA). Young people will learn about Saga's history, culture, and generative AI while taking on the challenge of creating new services and content. On May 22, the kickoff for the "New AI Project" and the "CREATIVE LINK SAGA 2026 General Meeting" were held at the MAIC SAGA seminar room. MAIC SAGA was established in 2016 with the aim of fostering ICT talent and revitalizing the regional economy. This year, marking its 10th anniversary, a new talent development project has started. The newly launched "New AI Project" is a two-year initiative involving Microsoft Japan, Saga University, Saga Prefecture, and Saga City. Young people will learn about Saga's history, culture, and regional appeal while challenging themselves to create new services and content using generative AI. By combining Saga's charm with the latest technology, the project aims to generate "Saga-unique" ideas. The kickoff was attended by representatives from Microsoft Japan, Saga University, Saga Prefecture, and Saga City. On the same day, a letter of appreciation was presented to Proship Co., Ltd., which made a donation through the corporate hometown tax system for the talent development project. The circle of companies working together to foster talent for the future of the region is expanding. Following the kickoff, the "CREATIVE LINK SAGA 2026 General Meeting" was also held. As a place where students and working professionals can learn from each other and connect to new challenges, practical programs will be deployed this fiscal year as well. Movements to create the future of Saga are spreading as people, regions, technology, and ideas connect.
