People who want to boost Ota City, Gunma Prefecture, gather now!!! Recruitment starts for new project "Ota Related Population Creation and Expansion Exchange Promotion Project Subsidy"!!

Ota City, Gunma Prefecture, has started recruiting businesses for the "Ota Related Population Creation and Expansion Exchange Promotion Project Subsidy" from April 1, Reiwa 8 (Wednesday). By certifying projects that aim to create and expand a 'related population' and supporting a portion of the expenses and public relations associated with project implementation, the city encourages initiatives that connect people, goods, and activities within the city with those from outside. The application period is until April 24, Reiwa 8 (Friday). Applicants, whether from within or outside the city, are welcome! We look forward to projects that create new value for the region!

## Project Overview

### Project Purpose

This project aims to create and expand a 'related population' by generating a flow of people to Ota City, contributing to the creation of vibrancy and securing individuals who support regional initiatives. It certifies such projects and supports a portion of the expenses and public relations associated with their implementation. A 'related population' refers to people who are not permanent residents (移住した「定住人口」) nor tourists (観光に来た「交流人口」), but rather individuals who engage with the region and its people in diverse ways.

**Examples of eligible support projects:**

- Mutual exchange between urban residents and the region through agricultural experiences
- Attracting exhibitors and fans from outside the city through events
- Revitalizing local events in collaboration with students, etc.

### Eligible Applicants

Those who fall under any of the following and have received certification for their project plan. *The location of the applicant does not matter.*

- Organizations with legal personality
- Voluntary organizations
- Individuals

### Eligible Projects

Projects that meet all of the following requirements:

- Projects to be completed by the end of February Reiwa 9 (2027)
- Projects aiming to create and expand a 'related population'
- Projects where efforts to acquire a 'related population' are not one-off, but continuously foster rich relationships

### Project Period

From the date of subsidy decision until February 28, Reiwa 9 (Sunday) (2027)

### Subsidy Amount

Up to half of the eligible expenses (maximum 200,000 yen)
