■ Background of the Project

Nirasaki City and Fairfield City have maintained deep exchanges for over 55 years since the sister city agreement was concluded in 1970. This mutual exchange program provides a valuable opportunity for young people, who will lead the next generation, to experience different cultures firsthand and deepen mutual understanding.

This summer, a total of 6 people, including local students and chaperones, are scheduled to visit Nirasaki City. We are looking for families who will warmly welcome them as a member of their family, as they arrive with high hopes of "getting to know Japanese life" and "learning about Japanese culture."

Attractions of Nirasaki City | Ginga no Eki Nirasaki

"Ginga no Eki Nirasaki" is a spot where the "deliciousness" of Nirasaki is condensed. Here, limited sweets that can only be tasted here, such as "Soy Sauce Soft Serve Ice Cream" using syrup from Izutsuya Shoyu, a long-established brewery in the city, and Shine Muscat soft serve ice cream from Yamanashi Prefecture, are gaining popularity. In addition, "Handmade Bomb Onigiri" with a whole soft-boiled seasoned egg, sold only on Saturdays and Sundays, and "Tororo Teishoku" (grated yam set meal) at the light meal corner, and Koshu specialty "Torimotsu-ni" (stewed chicken giblets) are among the many local dishes that can be fully enjoyed. The facility also offers a rich selection of local products such as fresh morning-picked vegetables and fruits, and famous wines, making it ideal for souvenir shopping.
