Naruto City German Museum 1F Cultural Property Special Exhibition 'Toyotomi Hidenaga and Naruto: Drama Exists in Naruto Too!'

During the Sengoku period, the naval commander Morishimamorimuramura built Tosatomari Castle (Designated as a Historical Site of Naruto City, designated Feb 23, S38) on Matsuseyama. This castle became the stage for the pacification of Shikoku, fought between Chosokabe Motochika of Tosa, who aimed to unify Shikoku, and Toyotomi (Hashiba) Hideyoshi, who sought to stop him. In that pacification of Shikoku, Hideyoshi's younger brother and commander-in-chief, Toyotomi (Hashiba) Hidenaga, led an army of 60,000 and gathered at Fukura (Minami-awaji City). Tosatomari Castle lord Muraharu Mori welcomed Hidenaga into Tosatomari Castle, making it a base for the pacification of Shikoku. Muraharu played a significant role leading his navy as the vanguard in the pacification of Shikoku under Hidenaga, laying the foundation for the Awa navy. The pacification of Shikoku, which decided the fate of Shikoku, began here in Naruto.

Exhibits
In addition to archaeological artifacts from Tosatomari Castle ruins, Matsuseyama Haiji, and Matsuse Kofun Cluster, panels will introduce topics such as Toyotomi Hidenaga and Naruto, the pacification of Shikoku and Tosatomari Castle, and the lord of Tosatomari Castle, Morishimamorimuramura.
