“Kogane Minna no Edible Garden” to Create an “Edible Landscape” on Kitakogane Hawaii Street, Matsudo City, Officially Launches!

In Matsudo City's Kitakogane Hawaii Street, an edible landscape activity is about to begin.

"Edible" means "something that can be eaten." Landscape creation using food is said to be not only beautiful but also helpful in fostering connections between people.

"Kogane Minna no Edible Garden" will redevelop Gyounindai Green Space along Kitakogane Hawaii Street into an edible garden, engaging in activities to grow flowers and vegetables.

It will be a place where new connections are born through experiences of touching, nurturing, tasting, and sharing greenery.

▼ What is an Edible Garden?

An edible garden is a garden where you can grow and enjoy edible plants such as flowers, vegetables, and herbs. Beyond just viewing, by cultivating, harvesting, and utilizing them in cooking or crafts, people can feel closer to nature.

▼ Outline of "Kogane Minna no Edible Garden"

This initiative aims to connect greenery with people and daily life, promoting regional exchange and community creation through activities that involve interacting with greenery.

In fiscal year 2025, briefing sessions, observation tours, and garden plan development will be conducted, and activities will finally begin on site in fiscal year 2026.

● Activity Day: Every third Sunday

● Activity Location: Gyounindai Green Space (12-minute walk from JR Kitakogane Station South Exit)

● Activity Content: Garden maintenance, harvesting, making crafts with harvested produce, and tasting sessions.

● Capacity: 25 people for each of session 1 and 2, on a first-come, first-served basis.

● Fee: Free

● What to bring: Clothes that can get dirty, gardening gloves.
