Maizuru City, Kyoto Prefecture, has appointed Mr. Kosuke Shikata of Chihososei Lab Inc. (Headquarters: Tokyo) as Marketing Director, utilizing the Regional Revitalization Entrepreneur System.
Since fiscal year Reiwa 7 (2025), Maizuru City has been utilizing this system to accept employees from private companies as "Brand Directors," aiming to improve the appeal of local products and strengthen information dissemination.
To further develop these achievements and implement strategic information dissemination based on data analysis, the city has replaced the previous Regional Revitalization Entrepreneur and newly welcomed Mr. Shikata, who possesses specialized knowledge in WEB marketing, as "Marketing Director."
Mr. Shikata, a native of Maizuru City, has a proven track record in producing recruitment advertisements and managing media across various genres such as tourism and food and beverage. Currently, he leverages his expertise to support corporate marketing and build regional brands.
At the "Marketing Director Appointment Ceremony" held on April 1st, he expressed his aspirations, stating, "I have always wanted to contribute to my hometown, Maizuru, so I am delighted to be given the role of Marketing Director. I want to energize the city by promoting the charm of local products and supporting local businesses."
Moving forward, through strategic information dissemination of local products from a marketing perspective, as well as planning and production of WEB content, Maizuru City aims to enhance the appeal of its local products, including 'furusato nozei' (hometown tax donation) return gifts, and expand the acceptance of 'furusato nozei'.
