Maizuru City to Deliver 10,000 JPY Worth of Local Products to Students Living Outside the City

Maizuru City, Kyoto Prefecture, is implementing the "Student Life Support Package" program to support students living outside the city, away from their parents, who are impacted by prolonged price increases. The program aims to alleviate living costs and foster a sense of local attachment. Applications for the program, which delivers 10,000 JPY worth of local Maizuru products (e.g., 5kg rice, nikujaga, navy curry, sweets), will open online and via dedicated forms on April 11, 2026 (Saturday), and close on May 31, 2026 (Sunday). Eligibility requires the student to live outside Maizuru City, away from their parents, and their parents to be registered residents of Maizuru City as of April 1, 2026. Exclusions include students living with parents, studying abroad, attending schools that provide salaries (e.g., National Defense Academy, Japan Coast Guard Academy), vocational school students, and adult students.
