Hokuriku Shinkansen Maizuru Route Invitation Promotion Council Inaugural Meeting and Commemorative Lecture Held

Maizuru City, the Maizuru City Council, and the Maizuru Chamber of Commerce and Industry will establish the "Hokuriku Shinkansen Maizuru Route Invitation Promotion Council" to promote the Maizuru route for the Hokuriku Shinkansen.

Regarding the Tsuruga to Shin-Osaka section of the Hokuriku Shinkansen, in December last year, the ruling party's development committee decided to re-examine eight proposed routes, including two options that pass through Maizuru. Taking this inaugural meeting as an opportunity, we will disseminate the importance of the Maizuru route and further foster public enthusiasm.

On the day of the event, in addition to the inaugural meeting, a commemorative lecture titled "Creating the Next-Generation Japan Sea Corridor from Here" will be held. We have invited Shuhei Ishimaru, Secretary-General of the Fukuoka Regional Strategy Promotion Council, and Hironobu Higashi, Principal at the Japan Research Institute and policy advisor to Maizuru City.

In this lecture, they will discuss the path towards realizing the next-generation Japan Sea corridor, from strategies to attract external investment and vitality, to building organizations that create new value through collaboration between industry, academia, government, and citizens.
