Leonard Debuts Upcycled Products as Furusato Nozei Return Gifts in Katsuyama City

Katsuyama City, Fukui Prefecture, will begin accepting applications for "Leonard Upcycle Bear" as a Furusato Nozei return gift starting April 15, 2026. This project is Leonard's first involvement with Furusato Nozei, realized through its connection with Katsuyama City, a key production hub for the brand. Hokuriku Sankyo Seikou, located in Katsuyama City, serves as the production base for Leonard's licensed products. The initiative combines Leonard's philosophy of utilizing materials rather than discarding them with Hokuriku Sankyo Seikou's extensive sewing expertise, resulting in return gifts that merge the brand's aesthetic with local craftsmanship. The "Leonard Upcycle Bear" and "Leonard Upcycle Cushion" are crafted from unused materials and leftover fabrics, making each item unique in pattern and expression. This project also aims to showcase Katsuyama City's manufacturing capabilities nationwide, reinforcing its reputation as a city that supports world-class products. Leonard, a Parisian brand founded in 1958, is known for its vibrant multi-color prints. For the brand, its printed fabrics are not just materials but a significant part of its history and assets.
