Kashiwa-no-ha to Hold Citywide Festival and Commemorative Parade for Urban Development 20th Anniversary and Park 35th Anniversary

To commemorate the 20th anniversary this November of Kashiwa-no-ha’s urban development, which began in 2006, the anniversary event “Kashiwa-no-ha Machi Marugoto Festival” will be held. In conjunction with this, anniversary events will also be held by Chiba Prefecture and other organizers to mark the 35th anniversary of Chiba Prefectural Kashiwa-no-ha Park, which opened 35 years ago last year. A parade featuring various groups, including wind bands and dance teams, will also take place. The “Tokyo Disney Resort® Special Parade” will participate in the parade under the comprehensive partnership agreement on culture and the arts between Chiba Prefecture and Oriental Land Co., Ltd. Commemorative events are as follows. “Kashiwa-no-ha Machi Marugoto Festival: Kashiwa-no-ha Urban Development 20th Anniversary” Venue: Around the west exit of Kashiwa-no-ha Campus Station on the Tsukuba Express line, 174 Wakashiba, Kashiwa City Organizers: Kashiwa City, Urban Design Center Kashiwa-no-ha (UDCK), and others Program: Ceremony, market, hands-on experience areas, and more (planned) “Kashiwa-no-ha Park 35th Anniversary Event” Venue: Chiba Prefectural Kashiwa-no-ha Park, 4-1 Kashiwa-no-ha, Kashiwa City Organizers: Chiba Prefecture and the Chiba Prefecture Community Development Public Corporation Program: Stage shows, workshops, food trucks, and more (planned) At the commemorative event venue, a special “Duffy Bus,” wrapped in the same fabric used for Duffy plush toys, will also be displayed. The parade may be canceled or partially changed due to severe weather or other circumstances. Since the establishment of the Urban Design Center Kashiwa-no-ha (UDCK) in November 2006 as a public-private-academic collaboration hub, Kashiwa-no-ha has promoted urban development based on the shared vision of the “Kashiwa-no-ha International Campus Town Initiative.” In 2011, it was designated as a national FutureCity for the environment as “Kashiwa-no-ha Smart City.” Since then, academia, research institutions, companies, and other diverse actors have continued working together to generate innovation. Kashiwa-no-ha’s urban development will mark its 20th anniversary in November 2026.
