Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture: First Jimoty Spot Kashiwa Toyoshiki Store Opens in the City

Kashiwa City and Jimoty Inc. will open the first Jimoty Spot Kashiwa Toyoshiki store in the city, a facility for bringing in unwanted items, based on an agreement for promoting a circular society. This aims to encourage reuse activities and reduce waste.

Kashiwa City and Jimoty Inc. signed an agreement in February 2024 for cooperation and collaboration on initiatives towards forming a circular society. Jimoty, which has been providing a service for matching unwanted items online, has now opened the 'Jimoty Spot Kashiwa Toyoshiki Store,' where unwanted items can be brought in directly, marking the first such facility in the city. This is the fourth store in Chiba Prefecture.

The 'Jimoty Spot Kashiwa Toyoshiki Store' will be co-located with 'Reuse Sakai Kashiwa Store' (※), operated by Sakai Moving Service Co., Ltd. The 'Reuse Sakai Kashiwa Store' sells large furniture and home appliances that are no longer needed after moving as reusable items. By leveraging each other's strengths, it is hoped that the circle of reuse in Kashiwa City will further expand, leading to waste reduction and the realization of a circular society.

※Kashiwa City's '3R Promotion Store' supports companies engaged in 3R activities.

Items accepted: Furniture, home appliances, children's goods, sports/leisure items, musical instruments, tableware, books/CDs, clothing, pet supplies, etc.

Conditions for bringing items: Limited to Kashiwa citizens (proof of identity required)
