Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture: "Kashiniwa Festa 2026" Event to be Held!

The "Kashiniwa Festa 2026" will be held jointly by the Kashiniwa Festa 2026 Executive Committee and the Kashiwa City Green Fund General Incorporated Foundation. This event, which saw great success last year with approximately 7,000 visitors, will be held for the 12th time this year. During the festa, 65 Kashiniwa* (open gardens, community gardens, satoyama) scattered throughout Kashiwa City will be simultaneously opened to the public. Various events and guided tours will be offered, including garden and forest tours by garden owners and civic groups, workshops, concerts, and various gifts. *What is Kashiniwa? It is a coined word combining "Kashiwa no Niwa" (Kashiwa's garden) and "kasu niwa" (lending garden). It was established in 2010 with the aim of protecting and increasing Kashiwa's greenery by transforming nearby vacant lots into "community gardens" that people can tend together and everyone can use. Display of Kashiniwa trivia Special Kashiniwa trivia will be displayed at some Kashiniwa locations to provide "learning" to festa visitors. Kashiniwa Word Rally During the festa period, four types of characters will be displayed, one character at a time, at each Kashiniwa. Festa visitors will complete a four-character keyword by visiting the Kashiniwa locations. Those who complete the keyword should fill out an application form with the keyword and submit it at a designated location, or answer the keyword online.
