■ 株式會社新日本科學概要
株式會社新日本科學自昭和32年9月（1957年）在日本國內首家藥品開發委託研究機構的身份在鹿兒島市創業以來，一直以支援製藥企業及生物技術企業的藥品開發為主力業務，包括非臨床試驗註1、臨床試驗註2及新藥上市申請業務等CRO註3事業。
此次擴建研究設施，是因為其快速穩定的非臨床試驗執行體系獲得高度評價，並與歐美大型製藥企業簽訂了優先試驗委託合約（Preferred Vendor Contract），預計未來訂單將進一步擴大，因此進行此次擴建。未來，預計將促進從鹿兒島走向世界的創新藥物開發，並為本地區創造就業機會和促進地區活化做出巨大貢獻。
註1）非臨床試驗：在臨床試驗註2之前，確認開發中藥品的有效性和安全性試驗。
註2) 臨床試驗：確認藥物對人體有效性和安全性試驗。
註3) CRO（Contract Research Organization）：接受製藥企業等委託，負責非臨床試驗註1、臨床試驗註2的營運管理，並支援（代理）藥品開發的機構。
