The Sakae-cho Community Center (nickname: Terasora; located at 19 Sakae-cho, Itabashi Ward) has been completed as a brand-new gathering place where multiple generations can naturally come together, interact, and easily participate in community activities. The name "Terasora" was chosen to embody the hope that this location will foster community-rooted activities, promote diversity, and connect residents. It represents a combination of "Terrace + Hiroba (Plaza/Sky)" and the sense of unity between "Tera (Earth)" and "Sora (Sky)."

In addition to its use as a general community center, "Terasora" is also planned to serve as a catalyst for Itabashi Ward’s "Connection Place" project, an initiative aimed at creating community-based spaces for residents.

To mark the completion of "Terasora," an event titled "Terasora’s User Manual" was held on Friday, March 27, 2026. During the event, the architectural firm responsible for the design provided an explanation of the center's functions and examples of how it can be utilized.

The event served as a grand opening to celebrate this new beginning, featuring a facility tour of "Terasora," food truck sales on the premises, a craft corner, and performances by local community groups.

Terasora is scheduled to open on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
