Hino City Launches University Support Program Using Furusato Nozei (Hometown Tax Donation) System

Hino City aims to not only continue its current collaborative projects but also to establish a stronger partnership between universities and the local community. To support the stable operation of local universities' education and research systems, the city will solicit donations from a wide range of people who wish to support local universities through the Furusato Nozei system. University Support Project Using Furusato Nozei (Hino City Website) Project Overview: Jissen Women's University Support Project, Meisei University Support Project. This project allows donors to support designated universities using the Furusato Nozei mechanism. In today's rapidly changing society, the challenges faced by local governments are becoming more complex and difficult to solve with conventional uniform measures. In response, Hino City promotes 'co-creation' where diverse entities work together, addressing various local issues through regional collaboration. This project aims not only to support universities but also to enhance educational and research activities at universities and contribute to the further development of the local community. Donations can be made through the Furusato Nozei website 'Satofull'. Details of university initiatives are also posted on the donation site. Please note that there are no return gifts for the university support menu. The amount of support delivered to the university is 70% of the donation received. Of the remaining 30%, expenses related to the donation are covered, and any surplus is used for general municipal administration. From June 2026: University support menu (no return gifts) published, donation recruitment begins. January 2027: Confirmation of donation amounts for 2026. April 2027: Donations delivered to target universities. Target Universities: Private universities that have campuses and buildings for educational and research purposes within the city and have concluded an agreement with the city.
