Amakusa City has joined a nationwide project involving 18 municipalities, titled 'Creation of Related Populations and Promotion of Dual-Residence Centered on Flexible Settlement,' which has been selected for the Cabinet Office's Regional Future Grant. This project promotes a 'flexible settlement' lifestyle, moving beyond the traditional binary choice of 'tourism or permanent relocation,' specifically catering to the life stages of families raising children. By incorporating successful models like 'nursery school study abroad,' the project aims to build an acceptance framework over three years from fiscal 2026 to 2028.
