Gon-chan, a Risso's dolphin weighing over 600 kg
Get completely soaked by dolphins leaping right in front of you
Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium (located in Motobu Town, Kunigami District, Okinawa Prefecture; Director: Keiichi Sato) will launch the 'Summer Show 2026 – Beautiful Sea Splash Festival' at the Oki-chan Theater starting Tuesday, June 23.
This year’s Summer Show, titled 'Beautiful Sea Splash Festival,' will feature immersive, audience-participatory performances inspired by summer festivals, including massive splashes created by dolphins.
During the 'Splash Time' segment of the show, guests seated in the front acrylic area can experience the powerful leaps and abundant splashes up close. As audience excitement builds, the 'Splash Level' increases, gradually intensifying the volume of water spray.
When the Splash Level reaches its peak, a spectacular splash performance by Gon-chan, a Risso's dolphin weighing over 600 kg, is scheduled to take place.
Come enjoy this limited-time summer experience and feel the exhilarating splashes produced by bottlenose dolphins and powerful Risso's dolphins.
