Kotobuki Seika Co., Ltd. Begins Renewable Energy Supply via On-site Solar PPA at Headquarters Factory

Chugin Energy Co., Ltd. (Okayama City; Representative Director: Shinichi Matsuoka) is pleased to announce that it has installed solar power generation equipment and commenced the supply of renewable energy to Kotobuki Seika Co., Ltd. (Representative Director: Minoru Ito) under a solar PPA (*) service agreement.

* PPA: Abbreviation for Power Purchase Agreement. A system in which a PPA provider installs, operates, and maintains a solar power generation system at no cost, and the consumer purchases and utilizes the electricity generated.

2. Overview of the Contracting Party

Kotobuki Seika Co., Ltd. manufactures and sells Japanese confectionery, primarily Hiroshima Momiji Manju. In the environmental field, the company has issued an SDGs declaration, aiming to "contribute to sustainable urban development," and is focusing on reducing CO2 emissions through the introduction of LED lighting and solar power generation equipment.
