New '3,826' Qualified Rental Property Managers Emerge from FY2025 Exam

The General Incorporated Association Japan Association of Rental Property Managers (Chairman: Hiromasa Nakamura, hereinafter referred to as the Association) has registered '3,826' successful candidates from the FY2025 exam, conducted on November 16 last year, as qualified individuals effective April 1, 2026.

Out of 9,370 successful candidates for the FY2025 exam, 3,826 individuals registered for the qualification. The total number of Rental Property Managers, including those who transitioned from private qualifications, has reached '94,817'.

In addition, the number of individuals who meet the requirements for a "Business Manager," which is mandated for rental housing management operations under the "Act on the Proper Management of Rental Housing," has reached '111,964'. This includes 17,147 Real Estate Transaction Agents (as of March 6, 2026) who have at least two years of practical experience in rental housing management and have completed designated training courses.

Furthermore, the guidelines for the FY2026 exam were released on March 25 last month. This year, with the aim of improving convenience for examinees and increasing the number of applicants, three new regions—Yamagata, Toyama, and Saga—have been added. The exam will be conducted in 41 regions nationwide on November 15 (Sunday). Please note that the application periods differ for online and postal applications. The number of applicants for last year's exam reached a record high of "36,360." We encourage you to consider taking this year's exam.

【FY2026 Rental Property Manager Exam Guidelines】

Exam Date & Time: Sunday, November 15, 2026, 13:00 - 15:00 (120 minutes)

Exam Venues: 41 regions nationwide

Eligibility: Anyone residing in Japan can take the exam.

Question Format: Multiple-choice (four options), 50 questions. *However, those who completed the FY2025 or FY2026 Rental Property Manager Training Course (which exempts 5 questions from the exam) will answer 45 questions.

Application Period: Online Application: Monday, August 3, 2026 - Wednesday, September 30, 2026

Postal Application: Monday, August 3, 2026 - Thursday, September 24, 2026 (postmark valid on the day)

Exam Fee: 12,000 yen

Results Announcement: Thursday, December 24, 2026 (scheduled)
