In an era where individuals become parties to contracts from the age of 18 due to the lowered age of majority, learning about housing before entering society is a crucial part of supporting young people's independence.

We believe this award recognizes the importance of housing education and the provision of practical learning opportunities.

Housing Education for High School Students Reaches 2,122 Schools Nationwide and Approximately 280,000 Copies in Total

"Room Searching & Living Alone Guide for High School Students" is a supplementary textbook for high school home economics courses aimed at high school students who will start living alone due to advancing to higher education or starting a new job.

It has been adopted by 2,122 schools nationwide, with approximately 280,000 copies distributed in total. Many high school students are utilizing it as an opportunity to learn about their future housing and living arrangements.

It covers practical content useful for living alone, including basic knowledge of room searching and rental contracts, as well as restoration, rent market trends, disaster prevention, and crime prevention. It also incorporates experiential learning activities that allow students to proactively learn from choosing a property to moving in and living there.

In developing the textbook, we have collaborated with high school home economics teachers and continuously improved it in conjunction with Tokyo Gakugei University. In addition to creating materials that align with the curriculum guidelines and educational perspectives, we have also worked to create an environment that is easy to use in classrooms, such as by preparing a "Teacher's Guide" for instructors.
