◆'Fukugyoku'—Cultivating a Rich Heart Through Clothing◆

An initiative promoting deeper understanding of social skills such as communication and manners, environmental issues, health and safety, international perspectives, and diverse cultures through clothing, to nurture 'life skills' and 'rich hearts.' Launched by Chikuma in 2004, it has spread widely among educational institutions, fashion, and environmental sectors.

◆Chikuma's 'Environmental Promotion Office'◆

As a textile trading company, Chikuma established its 'Environmental Promotion Office' in 1995 and has been promoting eco-friendly uniforms. Initiatives include recycling used PET bottles into uniform fibers. In 2004, Chikuma became the first company certified under the Minister of the Environment's 'Nationwide Certification System.' In 2014, we launched a public-private clothing recycling program in Kitakyushu City. To date (as of August 2024), we have collected and recycled a cumulative total of 19.1 million garments. Under the slogan 'Don't Turn Uniforms into Trash,' we continue to advance uniform recycling.
